Dave, the machine has had XP Pro on it here in our offices for about 3 years as mentioned - it works fine. No serials will be active on more than one PC. Paul, the issue I was referring to is that OEM licenses are part of the sale of a PC or Laptop and when that machine is scrapped, they die with it.

I wasn't suggesting you were trying to do anything illegal by the way, I just know the caveats with using certain MS CD's with alternative hardware from the ones they were first used.

I have seen someone with a machine which, after installing "MS Genuine Advantage" update, it broke validation and crippled the machine, especially with Software updates etc. He told me he got someone to repair his PC as it was crashing all the time and that person well meaning I am sure used their own CD to repair it which clearly he shouldn't have done.
