Right - click the volume that has Windows Vista is installed on, and then click Format to format the partition, or click Delete volume to delete the partition. To format the volume with the default settings , in the Format dialog box, click OK , and then click OK again.

To remove Windows Vista from the multiboot screen Even if you delete or format the partition containing Windows vista, it can still appear as an operating system option when you start your computer. You can remove Windows Vista from the multiboot screen. Note: If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Click Delete , click OK , and then click Restart.

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Also, look in this thread for some freeware partition managers that might help you get rid of that EISA partition.

These partition managers can also move partitions. I would make a recommendation, but I haven't used any of them.

Thanks a lot i now have a clearer idea of how to do what i want, i'll leave the logical as my BackUp. Did not know that Part' can only extend to the right and that explains things and so glad i didn't follow through with things and end up with Dynamic.

Yes if you could help me delete the EISA so i can merge it with the unalocated space then i will formate that as a primary partition that i can keep for future projects such as dual boot. Before using diskpart. You can also get help while running it with "help".

I suggest that you run it in Safe Mode with Networking, so you can load this post in a browser. Now you need to select the EISA partition from the list by it's number, "n". To leave diskpart, type exit.

I downloaded Paragon Partition Manager though not sure if i'll need it now. Delete override, nice to know. I hadn't thought of that. I would say the easiest way to move the F partition to the left and add the Once the F partition is empty, you can use Disk Management for the rest. Delete the F partition and there will be Then select that blank space and choose "New Simple Volume" I think.

Format the new volume with the NTFS file system, give it a name and give it a letter. Finally, copy the data back and you're done! I suppose that one or more of those partition managers have a Move Partition function which can move a partition to the left. This would move the data then rewrite the partition table. It tends to take a while and you still need to have all of your data backed up, just in case.

For me, I think why should I move it when I can just delete and re-create, then restore the data? However, it's nice to have choices. Just 1 more Q for my own knowledge. Q i have got over Gb of films and so have allways left them out of my BackUps.

What is the compresion ratio of BackUps?
